The story follows Dido, Queen of Carthage, and her tragic love for Aeneas of Troy. Composed during the time of tremendous political upheaval in Europe, this ballet-chanté was the last work by the genius of Kurt Weill before immigrating to the United States. The story follows Anna I (a singer) and Anna II (a dancer) – two split sides of one woman determined to earn a better life for herself, travelling through 7 cities across the country, returning to Louisiana to finally buy a home for her and her family.

Cain, overo il primo omicidio (Cain, or the first homicide)

CAIN is a reimagined ballet-opera that will premiere at the Marigny Opera House in September 2026. The music is a resurrection of the 1707 oratorio Cain, overo il primo omicidio by Alessandro Scarlatti – one of the most celebrated composers of the Baroque era. This virtually unknown baroque gem will take on new life as a fully staged ballet-opera, bringing together some of New Orleans’ finest dancers, designers, musicians, singers, and storytellers, as well as select talent from around the world.
