Performance at 6:00PM
We invite you to bring dishes to our communal feast!
Please join us on All Saints to honor our ancestors. Bring an offering–a photograph, momento, flowers, or candle–for the altar and stay for a live recorded concert with Joe Lastie and Herlin Riley‘s Spiritual Sounds featuring Bruce Sunpie Barnes (accordion), Gregg Stafford (trumpet), Louis Ford (saxophone), Rickie Monie (piano), and Mark Brooks (bass).
After the concert, gumbo and sweet potato pie will be served. Please bring other dishes your loved ones enjoyed for our communal feast.
This event is being filmed as part of an educational project funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Special thanks to the University of California-Berkeley, the Department of Anthropology & Sociology at the University of New Orleans, Another Gulf is Possible, Okla Hina Ikhish Holo (People of the Sacred Medicine Trail), Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network, the Gulf South Open School, and the Mellon Foundation for their support. With attendance, you consent to being a part of a noncommercial film developed for teaching resources. Graphic design and photography by Tyler Rosebush.
