Anna Laura Quinn is a sensitive and powerful vocal interpreter, tapping into many moods with her music and bringing deep personal connection to the songs that she weaves into her sets. Her recorded work thus far comprises her own arrangements of songs by some of the composers and songwriters that she admires most: Duke Ellington; Dr. John; Cole Porter; Joni Mitchell; Betty Carter; Abbey Lincoln; and Björk, to name a few.
Cristina Kaminis is a Mexican-American singer currently living in New Orleans via New York City. Her musical style ranges in genre and languages with hints of Mexican ranchera llanto to Blues, American Songbook standards, and French chansons, as well as Brazilian sounds and rhythms (most of the band hails from Brazil). She incorporates these sounds into her own compositions.
Emotional honesty is at the core of each of these artists’ vocal expression and Anna and Cristina look forward to leading audience members through a spectrum of emotions and musical styles on this special night at the Marigny Opera House.
