Presented by Art Span Nola and making its premiere at the Marigny Opera House, Carnival of Time is a surrealist journey with a cast of time-traveling characters who await the return of Napoleon Bonaparte.
The operetta—written by celebrated writer Andrei Codrescu, music by W8ING4UFOS, and projection art by Monica Rose Kelly—transforms the Marigny Opera House into the legendary Napoleon House. The story follows a cast of time-traveling characters, including Clarence John Laughlin and Baron Von Reizenstein, who contemplate the return of Napoleon Bonaparte, whom local conspirators hoped to kidnap from exile and proclaim Emperor of America.
