Fashion Design Masterclass: Magdalene Paris
Take a design from sketch to drape, create pattern pieces for sewing, and complete the process with a half-toile.
Magdalene Paris, costume designer for the Marigny Opera House, brings his experience in fashion design, draping, patternmaking, and garment construction to this free public masterclass.
Guiding participants through the creative process from concept to construction, Magdalene will demonstrate how to interpret a sketch through draping, transform the draped design into pattern pieces, and prepare those pieces for sewing. The class will culminate in the creation of a half-toile.
Free and open to the public, the class welcomes designers, costumers, students, artists, and anyone interested in fashion and theatrical design. Donations are always welcome and go directly to the Marigny Opera House Foundation, supporting future free masterclasses and community programming.
