Steve Pistorius Quartet

This project was started four years ago to play and record hot early New Orleans Jazz music. The group is unique in that it features two reeds who amaze and delight audiences with their masterful solo and ensemble playing. Clarinetist Orange Kellin has been in New Orleans for over 50 years and is best known for his work as musical director of the mega-hit show “One Mo’ Time”. Clarinetist, C- Melody Saxophonist and vocalist James Evans is a brilliant and innovative player who hails from Great Britain and now makes his home in New Orleans. Our Drummer, Benny Amon, has been in town for 6 years and has combined hard work with amazing musical instincts to become a respected New Orleans style player. Our repertoire consists of some oft-neglected music from the likes of Jelly Roll Morton, Sidney Bechet, Johnny Dodds, King Oliver and other early New Orleans greats.

The event is finished.
